“Your life is yours, and like anything else that belongs to you, it can be built the way you want. As long as you can imagine your dreams, you can make them a reality. The power is in your hands. You have all the cards; you just need to play them well.” ~ Cornel Manu
Do you know what you want to build with your life? If so, what are your specifications / requirements? Having a clear understanding of your requirements is critical. You must ensure what you’re building satisfies your overall objectives. Do you have a blueprint, or are you winging it? Are you using the proper tools? Do you have access to the proper tools? How strong is the foundation you’re building upon? Can your foundation support future expansion? These are questions you need to ask yourself if you want to build something that will last. You must design your life with intentionality, and this requires a solid game plan. If you fail to plan, then plan to fail. Lack of direction will leave you feeling lost. Knowing what you want to build makes reverse-engineering an option. Get a clear picture of what you want for your life, and then design your life around your vision.
“The closer you come to knowing that you alone create the world of your experience, the more vital it becomes for you to discover just who is doing the creating.” ~ Eric Micha’el Leventhal
The ancient Greek maxim “know thyself” is extremely applicable when determining how you want your world to look. You must ask yourself a series of questions: Who are you? What are your needs? What are your wants? What excites you? What saddens you? What angers you? All simple questions, but they require deep internal analysis. The deeper you delve into your heart & mind, the more clarity you will gain. The better you understand yourself, the easier it will be to build a life that feeds your soul. Society will make every effort to impose its standards onto you, so you must remain diligent in your quest to create the life you desire.
“Don’t go where the tide takes you. Build your own ocean.” ~ Hiral Nagda
Floating through life with no direction is extremely risky, for you’re leaving yourself at the mercy of ever-changing winds. Although some prefer to live this way, this strategy won’t work if your goal is to build a legacy. You don’t have to leave yourself at the mercy of your current environment. You possess the power to change your circumstances. With proper planning, building something for yourself is a realistic possibility. A solid plan will be necessary to build something that will stand the test of time. You can take control of your life, but this will require intentional effort on your part.
“Whatever good things we build end up building us.” ~ Jim Rohn
The byproduct of pursuing our dreams is the wisdom & experience we obtain along the way. So much growth takes place during the process, and this growth is what shapes our character & strengthens us for future journeys. The adversity we face builds our mental toughness, making it easier to push through new challenges. Overcoming past challenges serve as a reminder to yourself that you can handle anything life throws at you. To build the life of your dreams, it’s going to take everything you have within you. If it were easy, everyone would be living a utopian existence. The fact you’re willing to try says you’re built for the struggle. You can do this. Now get to work.
